A stitch in time saves nine

Repair Services

We believe in long-lasting, sustainable fashion.

To reduce the environmental impact, one sweater at a time, we offer a repair service to encourage our customers to repair rather than replace.

Knowing how to care for your garments not only saves money, but encourages a mindset that previous generations often had - that our material goods are not disposable and well cared for they can last for many years.

How It Works:

  1. Complete our form below with all the required details.

  2. Our team will respond via email and send you a printable version of your form.

  3. Ship/drop off your items in a sealed plastic bag, along with your printed form, to our studio’s address.

  4. We will assess your items within 5 business days and email you a quote.

  5. Once we receive your approval to go ahead with the work, you will receive an invoice to pay by debit or credit online.

  6. We will then, start work: repairing, washing, steaming, and depilling your garments.

  7. Please give 1-2 weeks for our team to complete the service.
An email will be sent once the items are complete.

Pricing:

To ensure each sweater leaves our program in tip-top condition, and to keep our studio moth-free, the Wash and Recondition service is mandatory with each repair.

This service includes: hand washing, depilling, and steam ironing.

Basic Service:

Wash and Recondition With One Small Hole Repair: $30

Additional Holes:

Holes Smaller Than Dime: $5/each

Holes Larger Than a Dime: Larger holes and other damage (split seams/tears etc.)
will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

Please Note:
We do our very best to make our mends as invisible as possible - our team does a lot of mending! We use polyester thread for all of our repairs. With small holes, we have great success in making repairs very discreet. With larger holes this is more difficult, and often the repairs are visible. A lot also depends on the nature of the knit - thicker knits are more forgiving and less visible than finer knits.

My cashmere is beyond repair! What now?

As much as we like to promote mending/patching garments for as long as possible, sometimes it just doesn’t make sense to mend a garment with extensive damage. It might make more sense in some cases to retire your holey sweater to camping or gardening attire (or donate it to us if it’s beyond wearing). At our fall pop-up store - returning this October to 706 Queen Street West - we offer very affordable like-new cashmere sweaters starting at $70. So when it’s time… come visit our store for a “new” replacement!

If your 100% cashmere knitwear is beyond repair and you do not have a use for it, please don’t throw it away! Donate it to us and our sewing team will happily give it a new life by recycling it into new cashmere accessories (hats, mittens, etc.)

Check for holes.

Holding your sweater up to the light is a great way to check for any damage, especially moth holes.

Be sure to check seams, underarms, edges, and cuffs.
